West Windsor Mercer County Alexander Road Bridge is now closed for construction.

Princeton Junction train station is what many people in Princeton, Montgomery, West Windsor and other surrounding towns use to commute to work. Proximity to the train station is often one of the key requirements  for many Princeton area home buyers.

There are several ways to get to the Princeton Junction train station and one of them is from Alexander street. Starting  July 11, the project to replace the bridge entered it's second phase, and the Alexander Road Bridge has been closed. For many years when I lived in West Windsor, there was an understanding of the need and plans for the redesign of the Alexander Road Bridge. These plans are now being implemented, with the project scheduled to be completed by November.

The new bridge will have wider traveling lanes, 4-foot shoulders and 6-foot sidewalks to accommodate motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.

There are several detours re-routing the traffic around the train station, but the delays could be expected.
