Long term goal for the Princeton Real Estate blog is to become a community site for Princeton, Montgomery, West Windsor and other surrounding towns. What I mean by a community is having a two way conversation about real estate and other important things  effecting our Greater Princeton community.

Participating in social networks is one way to get community involvemnt. Twitter is one such network (I am fsechzer, if you want to follow me).   

Twitter is a social network where people communicate through short 140 character posts.  There are a bunch of people from the Princeton area on Twitter. We have been following each other (Twitter language for being able to read each other posts) for a while. Yesterday we met for the first time for a face- to- face get together.

It was very exciting to meet in person people who only “spoke” to each other through short messages. We knew about each other quite a bit, considering how short Twitter interactions are.

it would be interesting to see if our impressions of each other in person are similar to the impression we have from Twitter.

There are people concerned and reluctant about meeting others in person, who they met through the Internet. It is totally understandable. Our meeting turned out great.

Our gathering was a social get together, but we talked a bit about our jobs, and of course, about Twitter, how we use it and the interesting people we follow. The Twitters who participated are:

Bob Beardsley (Beardsley on Twitter ) He has the best job of all. you could ask him what it is if you follow him on Twitter.

Twitter could be one way of getting to know and network with people in the Princeton community. We all enjoyed it and plan to meet again in a few months. Everyone is welcome to come.
